Craniosacral Therapy: Pediatric Population

The focus of this course is to introduce specific techniques to effectively use Craniosacral therapy with your pediatric patients.   Hands on experience working with many different age groups will be the goal of this course.  Strategies in effectively working with children and parents will be discussed including a review of developmental milestones. Specific pediatric conditions will also be discussed including common findings. The student learns many techniques to facilitate change specific for the pediatric population and several direct techniques commonly used when working with children. Prerequisite CST II

Learning objectives

Recognize signs and symptoms that indicate benefit for Craniosacral Therapy
Understand skull formation and ossification ages.
Learn rapport skills for parent and child including special consideration for autism, ADD and sensory integration.
Hands on experience working with children of various ages.
Incorporating craniosacral evaluation into an Initial evaluation of newborn or infant.
Review of developmental milestones.
Understanding common patterns identified for ear infections, autism, GERD, colic, and stuttering.
Learn Advanced Direct Techniques for Occipital base, pre-post interosseous maxillary release, Peri-eustacean tube release, lacrimal duct release, frontosphenoid release and tooth alignment technique
Review connections between teeth corresponding muscles, viscera, meridians and cranial nerves.
Learning to quickly assess a moving target, distraction or involvement techniques for increased effectiveness.
