Habitat: Sunflower, also know as Wild or Common Sunflower, grows throughout the United States in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Sunflowers are known for their ability to track the sun. The disk flowers are arranged in a spiral with the angle approximating the golden angle and the spirals containing Fibonacci numbers, a series of numbers in which each Fibonacci number is the sum of the two preceding numbers.
