Desert Paintbrush

Excerpt from Honoring The Wisdom in Nature Pocketbook Edition with 54 Plant Essence Card

Desert Paintbrush

“Harness past experiences to transform and bring insight to the present. Spark your creative fire. Consciously choose what you want to encourage and develop in life.”

Keywords: mirroring, change, creativity, kindness

Habitat: Desert Paintbrush, also known as Wavyleaf Indian Paintbrush, grows in the Western United States along dry sagebrush slopes, chaparral, and pine forests. The roots hook to the roots of a host plant for survival. Transplanting usually kills the plant.

MESSAGE

It acts as a large unflinching mirror reflecting the issue or imbalance that need attention and the awareness needed to change. Brings an awareness and clarity to issues by reflecting the patterns being held in the body and supports conscious choice of what you want to encourage and develop in life. Reclaim your choice as to the importance of things and what to prioritize. Supports like a spark of creative fire. The leaf boosts confidence that there is a plan, an order to events, supporting the path to release patterns. It supports the issues mirrored by the flower reminding you to take things one step at a time. The little hairs on the leaf ask you to soften how you look at yourself. “Find kindness and awareness of the time it takes to let go of whatever you are holding and no longer works for you.”

PATTERNS

  • Desert Paintbrush brings awareness to any imbalance or pattern the body is wanting to release. Below are a few examples:
  • Unable to receive help. Suppressing own wishes. Harshness toward yourself and others.
  • Pushing self to places that can harm physically, injure, or deplete in the name of a cause or perfection.

AFFIRMATION

“Be soft with yourself.”
